JEE Advanced Counselling and Seat Allotment Process 2018

JEE Advanced 2018 Mock Seat Allotment has been released on 19th June 2018. Candidates who have cleared their JEE Main 2018 with ranking less than or 224,000 will be only allowed to appear at JEE Advanced 2018. Every year JEE is conducted by CBSE. JEE mains enables a student to take admission in NITs where as JEE Advanced enables a student in taking admission in any IITs across whole India. In this article we will be discussing in detail about JEE advanced counselling and seat allotment process 2018.

Process of counselling

 After a candidate clears JEE advance exam 2018 on 20 May, the JEE Advanced result 2018 will be announced. Whoever clears it becomes eligible for JEE Advanced counselling and seat allotment process 2018. And he can further take part in the process of counselling and take admission in one of the IIT, which every student dreams of. In this section of this article we will be mainly discussing about the whole counselling process in detail. The counselling process is been described stepwise in details, so that it would be easily understandable for candidates.

Counselling Registration

For participating in the JEE Advanced counselling and seat allotment process 2018, the candidates have to first of all register themselves for this on the official website of JEE Advanced.

Choice Preferences

After registering for JEE Advanced counselling and seat allotment process 2018, they need to login in their account where they can made their choice of preferred IIT and courses. When the candidates would have finally submitted their choices, they cannot make any change in them afterward.

Seat Allotment Result

Seats will be allotted to the candidates according to their preference, rank in the merit list, JEE Advanced score 2018, category and availability of seats. The allotment of the seat will be done in three rounds.

Acceptance of Allotted Seat And Payment Of Seat Allotment

After the allotment of the seat a candidate needs to accept the seat. This can done via online mode, by logging in the official website of JEE.  Seat allotment fee needs to be paid for acceptance of the allotted seat. It varies from candidates to candidates depending on their respective categories. The seat allotment fee is Rs. 20,000 for candidates who belongs to SC/ST/SC-PwD/ST-PwD/GEN-PwD/OBC-NCL-PwD category. And the seat allotment fee is Rs 45,000 for other categories.

Reporting at the help center

After the acceptance of the seat, candidates need to appear at the help center for JEE Advanced counselling and seat allotment process 2018. Here, they have to be present in person for the verification of the document. Candidates are required to bring the original documents along with photo copies of each. All photocopies must be self-attested. The required document are mentioned in the next section of this article.

Reporting to the IIT allotted

Those candidates who have already confirmed their seat and have done their document verification they need to do this step. Now they have to appear at the allotted IIT. Here document will be again verified. After which you have to pay the admission fee and fulfill other admission related formalities. After which their admission will be confirmed.

Candidates need to appear at the help center for JEE Advanced counselling and seat allotment process 2018. Here, they have to be present in person for the verification of the document.   • Registration-cum-locked choices for seat allotment
  • Two passport size photographs (same as uploaded in the registration form)
  • Passport of the candidate and parents (for foreign nationals), OCI certificate or PIO card (if applicable)

JEE Advanced 2018 Counselling Procedure

Candidates have to go through the following steps during the JEE Advanced 2018 counselling:

  • Registration:Firstly, candidates have to register online to participate in the counselling process. Candidates have to fill registration details like gender, state code of eligibility, nationality, etc. No fee will be charged for registration & choice filling.
  • Choice Filling & Locking:After registration, candidates are required to login using their JEE Main 2018 roll number & password. Fill the maximum choices as per your preference for seat allocation. Candidates should lock their choices after the choice filling process. If students do not lock their choices then the last saved choices will be locked automatically.
  • Provisional Seat Allotment:Candidates who will get seat allotted will be able to download the “provisional seat allotment letter” and e-challan. The e-challan will be used for payment of seat acceptance fee.
  • Seat Acceptance:Candidates have to pay Rs. 20,000 for reserved categories and Rs. 45,000 for general candidates as a seat acceptance fee. Fee can be paid through SBI Bank Net Banking & e-challan. Candidates must take printout of the fee payment for further use.
  • Reporting to the Allotted Centre:After the payment of seat acceptance fee, students have to report to the allotted centre for document verification. Seat confirmation will be done by the reporting centre after the verification.
  • Reporting to the Allotted Institutions:Once the seat is confirmed, students must report to the allotted institution to complete admission formalities. Students must appear at the college before the due date.

Documents Required at the time of Reporting

Candidates have to bring the required documents at the allotted reporting centre for verification process. Candidates must bring their original documents along with a set of self attested photocopies. After verification, original documents will be returned to candidates.
